最美人间四月天，在这个阳光明媚的季节里，人大附中通州校区迎来了80多位来自异国的朋友。他们是英国友好校Saffron Walden CountyHigh School的师生访问团。
It is April, the most beautifulApril day. In this sunny season, more than 80 foreign friends arrived at RDFZTongzhou Campus, and they are visiting teachers and students from our friend-schoolSaffron Walden County High School (SWCHS) in United Kingdom.
On the morning of April 4th, morethan 100 Chinese students and teachers were holding their elaborate hand-madewelcome posters to wait for their "old friends". The British perfect“Ni Hao” and the Chinese sincere “Welcome” have soon brought all the teachersand students closer than ever. For the next few days, our British friends will alsohave the opportunity to pair with Chinese students to learn and live together,to deeply experience the charm of Chinese culture and the educationalatmosphere of RDFZ Tongzhou Campus.
After a brief but warm welcome ceremony, British students accompanies bytheir Chinese partners went to watch the morning exercises of our school. The“Regimen Exercises” were composed by one of our Chinese teachers. It fullydisplayed the traditional Chinese culture and won a big round of applause fromall British guests. Later on, many of British teachers and students also tookpart in the class to learn the “Regimen Exercises” with great interest.
In addition to the exercises study, British students also followed their Chinesepartners to attend classes in our campus, including PE class, dancing class, maths class, art class and foreign teacher’s class. During the class, Britishstudents actively participated in all kinds of activities and communicated withour Chinese students. Their youthful vigor and Chinese students’ sagacityjoined together and sparked splendid classes.
At noon, our students invited their Englishfriends to go to our cafeteria for Chinese food. After lunch, Chinese studentssent their British partners on their way and waited for another reunion in afew days.
On April 7th, Chinese studentsand British partners met again. On that day, British students will go with theirChinese partners to their home. In order to serve our British guests well, ourChinese students’ whole family members took part in the reception and came upwith various plans.
Webelieve that the hospitality of Chinese parents, the delicious taste of Beijingsnacks and the authentic flavor of Chinese cuisine definitely made Britishfriends feel the enthusiasm and kindness of Chinese people and the charm ofChinese culture.
After the day tour with the Chinese family, at 4 pm, our Chinese studentsbrought their British friends back to school. There are wonderful interactiveactivities waiting for them, football match, volleyball match, calligraphyclass, and Chinese dance class. The friendship between Chinese students andtheir British partners deepened in the games and matches, and theirunderstanding of both cultures became more profound through the communicationand experiences.
One and a half hours’ interaction pushed children’s friendship to a climax. In the lecture hall, our headmaster Liu Xiaohui and British headteacher ofSWCHS exchanged gifts for best wishes.
It was time to say goodbye. Children’s tearful eyes and affectionate hugsseemed to fail to fully express all their emotions. But we believe that this isnot a farewell but a new start. These cultural exchanges not only help studentsgain knowledge, but also leave touching and moving memories. A cultural seedhas already taken root in the hearts of all the students. We expect that thefriendship between RDFZ Tongzhou Campus and Saffron Walden County High School willlast forever. Our friends, we will see you next year!
